March 2012 CAAHEP It's Official! GCTC's Pramedic Program is Acceditied!

"The recent peer review conducted by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP) and CAAHEP's Board of Directors recognizes the program's substantial compliance with the nationally established accreditation
Standards. The initial accreditation status will expire on March 31, 2017."

February 2012 CoAEMSP The CoAEMSP met and voted to send an accreditation reccomendation to CAAHEP. CAAHEP will meet in mid March and decide GCTC's Paramedic program accreditation status.

Advanced EMT CourseGordon Cooper Technology center, with permission from the Oklahoma State Department of Health's EMS Division, began a "pilot" Advanced EMT program on February 7th, 2012. This "pilot" course is designed to test the proposed course recommendations made by the EMS Consensus Group. The results of this course, including student pass rates, will be reported to the EMS consensus Group in July.

July 2011 CoAEMSP Program Accreditation Site Visitors visit GCTC's Paramedic program. Though the final reccomedations are pending, we're confident the our Paramedic program will be accredited by years end.

June 2011 EMS Advisory Board GCTC's EMS Advisory Board met in preperations for the accreditation site visitors.
